Meet the Founder

The Hands Behind SpringMetal

SpringMetal was founded by Liang Daqiang, a master metal engraver and artisan whose journey began with a deep fascination for nature and an enduring respect for traditional craftsmanship.

Born in Guangdong, China, Liang has devoted more than two decades to the art of metalworking. His early training under renowned jewelry craftsman Liang Dazhao laid the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship, creativity, and artistic expression.

For Liang, metal is more than a material.

It is a medium capable of preserving stories, emotions, and cultural heritage.

Inspired by Nature, Guided by Craft

From an early age, Liang found inspiration in the natural world—the intricate structure of marine life, the flowing forms of plants, and the quiet beauty found in organic textures.

These observations became the foundation of his artistic language.

Rather than reproducing nature exactly as it appears, he reimagines it through sculptural metalwork, transforming familiar forms into functional objects that feel both artistic and contemporary.

This philosophy continues to shape every SpringMetal creation today.

A Commitment to Handmade Excellence

In an era dominated by mass production, Liang remains committed to the value of handcraftsmanship.

Every piece begins as an idea, then gradually takes shape through sketching, sculpting, engraving, hammering, polishing, and countless hours of refinement.

No shortcuts.

No automated perfection.

Only the patience of skilled hands and an uncompromising pursuit of detail.

The subtle marks left by the crafting process are not imperfections—they are evidence of authenticity and the human touch behind every piece.

Bridging Tradition and Contemporary Design

Throughout his career, Liang has continuously explored ways to bring traditional metalworking into modern life.

His work blends centuries-old craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, creating objects that feel equally at home in a modern interior, an art collection, or a daily ritual.

Whether it is a handcrafted copper cup, a sculptural decorative object, or a collectible metal artwork, each creation reflects his belief that craftsmanship should evolve while remaining rooted in tradition.

Recognition and Achievement

Over the years, Liang's work has received recognition from industry professionals, collectors, and design communities.

His achievements include awards in national skills competitions, industrial design exhibitions, and cultural innovation programs, reflecting both technical excellence and artistic originality.

Yet for Liang, the greatest achievement remains unchanged:

Creating meaningful objects that people can live with, use, collect, and pass on.

A Vision Beyond Objects

Through SpringMetal, Liang hopes to preserve the spirit of traditional craftsmanship while introducing it to a new generation of design enthusiasts around the world.

His goal is not simply to create beautiful objects, but to create pieces that carry emotion, tell stories, and connect people to the beauty of handmade art.

Every piece created at SpringMetal is a reflection of that vision—where nature inspires, craftsmanship shapes, and metal becomes art.
